Methodology.
WealthMeter utilizes advanced stochastic modeling and logarithmic interpolation to synthesize global financial standing across 140+ sovereign jurisdictions.
We provide two baselines. The default is the UBS Global Wealth Report 2024 wealth pyramid (56 markets covering ~92% of global wealth) with an adult sample of ~3.767B. The optional global baseline uses UN World Population Prospects 2024 adult (18+) totals (~5.75B). Toggle the baseline to compare denominators.
Because wealth distribution is non-linear, we utilize logarithmic interpolation to map individual net worth against the covered adult population (~3.767B). This ensures that rankings remain sensitive at both the median and the extreme "tail" of the distribution.
Where w represents net worth, k is the median wealth coefficient, and α represents the distribution's shape parameter derived from Global Institutional Wealth Aggregates.
For high-net-worth brackets, our engine transitions to a Pareto distribution model. This "Power Law" approach accurately reflects the disproportionate concentration of capital within the top 1% and 0.1% of global households.
Global rankings are cross-referenced against regional Gini coefficients and periodically updated exchange benchmarks. This allows for a "Perspective" shift, showing how a single net worth value translates into relative standing within specific sovereign economic corridors.
